Of Septembers past I've complained but small
Some bad, most good, oft middlin' be.
But this one ending here today
I'll say "be gone, be gone" from me.
Come, October, come quite soon
Come, October, soothe our soul.
Come, October, be welcome moon
Come, October, make us whole.

Order in the Blog!
Ok, we'll call it an editor's error. Somehow I managed to get the entries from SB-69 to SB-88 out of order. Mea culpa, mea culpa. The next one will be SB-89. I'll try to keep them straight as we enter the final 32 counties in Sherman's Kentucky County Experience.
SB-77. Magoffin County. See Entry No. 777 for an explanation.
#77
is MAGOFFIN COUNTY (named for KY's 21st Governor Beriah Magoffin; the
county seat is Salyersville). Where do you want to eat & who do you
visit? #KY120Game

- Les Fugate Lots of good friends in Magoffin Count since it is next door to my home. I would definitely catch up with Grayson Smith and Holly Ann Ward. I would most likely just head to P-burg to eat, but if I have to stay in town definitely Mi Finca (I think that is the name). Very good tex-mexi sorta place.
- Travis M. Scott Family history fact: Asa Creek Scotts crossed the hill from Rockhouse Creek in Magoffin into Asa Creek in Johnson in 1920. My Great-Great-Great Grandfather, Holloway Powers, was the first County Judge in Magoffin County. I always eat at Lee's Famous Chicken when in Salyersville, but I would consult April Cantrell, Brandon Montgomery and Beecher McCarty on local restaurants.
- Charlotte Flanary I would visit with my former bosses Mike and Paul Stephens and former co-worker Jenny Combs. This is also the home county of my friend Kevin Minix. I would grab a soft serve at the DQ as I travel down the road.
- Katie Mueller Yay! My mamma is from Magoffin, lots of family to see. Go by and see Doug and Sue Blanton Mortimer (they own the aforementioned Lee's and DQ) then call cousin Augusta Helton and get fed and loved on at her house, try and catch Paula Mann Flora while I'm there. My papaw was the judge for awhile, and there's a very handsome photo of him hanging in the courthouse, so I'd be compelled to snap a picture with that, too. Darren Patrick can weigh in on this one, too-he grew up next to my Granny-Aunt Frieda and used to put on the finest magic shows Dixie ever saw.
- Darren Patrick Not many wonderful places to eat anymore, but lots of folks to visit. . Thank you, Katie Mueller for reminding that I used to do magic shows lol. The Mortimers are great people and of course there are a few nice Patricks and Salyers as well lol.
- Jeff Noble I've got nothing. It is a place I drive through to get somewhere else so I'll just be reading for new ideas.
SB-88. Morgan County.
#88
is MORGAN COUNTY (named for VA Congressman Daniel Morgan; county seat
is West Liberty). Where do you eat & who do you visit? #KY120Game

- Travis M. Scott I yield my time to Leann Lacy, Hilary Stacy, John Nicholas Blevins, Derek Caudill and Michael L Gevedon
- Leann Lacy You should try the Freezer Fresh in West Liberty. I've also heard good things about the Lemon Tree on Index/460.
- Jeff Noble At one time it would have been Evan Perkins's mom Dorothy. I'm hoping she is still with us. My friend Jarvis spent some time there, literally, on the Commonwealth's dime in the Pink Palace. Not sure where to eat.
SB-87. Montgomery County. (See Entry #777 for an explanation).
#87
is MONTGOMERY COUNTY (named for Gen. Richard Montgomery; county seat is
Mount Sterling). Where do you eat & who do you visit? #KY120Game

- Jared Smith Jack Razor is a living legend, Jon and Wanda Terry are good people as well. Also, there is a random bar with the best window art work I've seen in a long time. I'm trying to find it in my photos...
- Matt Osborne I've met a lot of good people in Montgomery County, but it's always been a pass through county for me. I'll have to rely on Kim Jenkins for some assistance.
- Wes Wright My mama's family is from Mt. Sterling. I would stop and see Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Judy, whose home cooking is better than any restaurant, and cousin Travis and Aunt Katherine. If I had to go out to eat, Terry & Kathy's on Main, Jerry's, which is better than I remember it growing up, and Berryman's Ice Cream are the choices, right Alisha?
- Morgan White As a life long Montgomery Countian, Berryman's is the place to go! Get a chili dog, an ice cold Ale-8, Grippo's, and a chocolate shake. Meal of champions!
(And then drive a few miles past Berrymans and come see us at the pumpkin patch. #shamelessplug) - Wes Wright I'm aiming for a job with the Mt. Sterling Chamber of Commerce. My cousin-in-law Alisha reminded me of Ruth Hunt Candies, and while I'm at it, let's tag the (big word alert) aforementioned Berryman's Tastee Treat and Jerry's Restaurant!
- Jamie Leppert I go see my Grandmother Bonfield and see cooks up a storm! If it's the second weekend of October I grab an Ale8, in the long neck bottle ONLY,! and go to Court Day and eat while people watching. Ha, now there's an experience!
