Jeff Noble Anderson, a favorite. The Burgoo Festival is usually right around my birthday, a reason to celebrate. I have family there with names like Wheat, Sharp, and Brown. My cousin used to have a seafood restaurant on the northside of town - Cap's Place. But mostly I go to cemeteries. Two of my eldest known ancestors are buried there, both of whom fought in the Revolutionary War. John T. Collins is in a small, unkempt cemetery right on the Franklin County line on KY151. Johann Michael Hockensmith is buried in the Salt River Primitive Baptist Church cemetery on Salt River Road off S. Main Street.
