SB-37. Franklin County. See Entry #777 for an explanation.
For the folks who have been commenting and playing along, everyone should be able to weigh in on this one ...
#37 on our list is FRANKLIN COUNTY (county seat is Frankfort; named for Benjamin Franklin - have you ever heard of him?). Where do you eat & who do you visit? #KY120Game — with Charlotte Flanary and 17 others.

- Beth Bissmeyer and 10 others like this.
- Kathy Jo Stubblefield I'd eat at Serafini's and visit Jennie Barker Arnold and Frankie Stubblefield.
- Sara Luna Osborne I like to eat at the Capitol grill (spinoff from Sage), Adelia's, Thai smile, and my favorite of the multitude of tex mex options is Gracias.
- Charlotte Flanary Oh my. Bob Stewart, George Russell, Ron and Patsy, Max and Cathy, Barbara, Barbara Hadley Smith, Sue and Allen, Judy Campbell and on and on. Let's have a party. Agree with Sara on Thai Smile and Garcia's and, if I am in the mood for pizza, it has to be Buddy's.
- Travis M. Scott Christian J. Motley, Liles Bennett Taylor, Katie Mueller, Justice Heltzel, April Gillispie and I developed a weekly circuit of Frankfort Restaurants back in 2011. You get pizza at Buddy's, barbecue at Stax or Ricks (Christian gets free cookies at Stax), Fajitas at Aranda's (Which is sadly no longer with us), Thai at Thai Smile.
- Matt Osborne I'm going with the Kentucky Coffee Tree on Broadway. Cliffside is a nice greasy spoon for breakfast.
- Jeff Noble My mother's parents are from two of Franklin's largest families, the Hockensmith and Lewis, and all their spouses, partners, and offspring. I have about 350 cousins somewhere in Franklin County and I speak to about half of them. The family matriarch, my grandmother's little sister, is Aunt Frances Lewis Moore, who'll be 94 this week. Until she entered the nursing home her house was the best place to get a great meal at any hour and I've taken many of you there over the years. She was a Democratic inside worker at the Choateville precinct for over 50 years. My stops, basically all on Broadway, are Capital Cellars, Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe, Poor Richard's Books, Gibby's On Broadway, and the Benson Marina boat dock. And Serafini's if Jerry Lundergan is buying. I've spent a few hours in Franklin County nearly every weekend of my life. So who knows the story behind the naming of Mero Street?
- Katie Mueller Well. I'm just gonna invite everyone over to my house. I have a huge, shady, wonderful front porch, and my fried green tomatoes won a Nobel Peace Prize once, so that's fun. There. There's my contribution to Franklin County. See y'all soon!
- Marc Wilson I'm going to check in with Katie Mueller and ask her to vote Republican then I'm going to Serafini for cocktail hour, then buy some wine at Capital Cellars, head over to Buddy's pizza for a big greasy pie, then I will become catatonic at my apartment on Capital Avenue.
- Scott Douglas I have probably had Thai food in at least twenty different cities during the past two years and have yet to have a Pad Thai as good as Thai Smile's.
- Ty Martin I love Thai Smile. I've only eaten Thai in 2 places and Thai Smile is my favorite (so I'm not an expert by any means).
My wife travels a lot with work (and her coworkers travel a lot, too) and when they find out she's from Frankfort, the first thing they say is "OOOH! THAI SMILE!", so I guess they're the best... or at least pretty amazing.
