Travis M. Scott Every time I ask for a local place to eat in Hardin County, people suggest places in Bardstown. I'll always stop and see Les Dawson, John Padron,Amber Roberts, and Michael Wilson (even if he's technically from Larue)

Holly Lynn Harris Etown! Home of the Harris family. So you go immediately to the home of Michael E Harris and Rose Harris and tell them you are a Republican in need of food. They will lay you by the pool with a fabulous home cooked meal. If you simply cannot bring yourself to betray your party, then stop by the Stone Hearth or the Green Bamboo for a great meal!

Ashli Watts This is my hometown, so of course I'd visit my family and friends. Local favorites are Stone Hearth, Green Bamboo and Back Home. Also, visit Glendale for antique shopping and lunch at the Whistle Stop.

Matt Wyatt The place where I was born and raised. I NEVER agree with Holly Harris; however, she is right- Green Bamboo and Stone Hearth are-by far-the best local resturants in E-town.

Steve Brown I grew up in Flaherty in Meade County but for shopping my parents primarily went to Vine Grove and for big medical 'problems' they went to Etown. Thus Hardin is not my home county but in some ways it is. The big place to go at one time as a young hang-out (believe it or not) in 60s for our area was the ice cream drive-in in Vine Grove between funeral home (I have been to too many times) and Saint Brigid. My memory also recalls being in a doctor's office in Etown with a broken leg on 11-22-63 when news was announced about JFK. My grandma Padgett (Scott Padgett's great-grandma) lived in Vine Grove - lots of memories there too.

Kathy Jo Stubblefield If I had a day to spend in Hardin County, I'd call up Winnie Townsend and have lunch in Glendale at the Whistle Stop. But I made a quick stop with a carload on the way home from a Democratic Woman's Club meeting last year at Jerry's J Boy, brought back a lot of memories of school and 4-H trips stopping there, and the food was great.
