SB-63. Laurel County
#63
is LAUREL COUNTY (named for the dense mountain laurel thickets; county
seat is London). Where do you eat & who do you visit? #KY120Game — with Charlotte Flanary and 17 others.
- 2 people like this.
- Jeff Noble My aunt and uncle, Jimmy and Liz Deweese Lewis live there. Maybe I could visit them. I'd probably look up Roy's brother. Saw him down at Fancy Farm. I'd go eat at The Abbey on Main Street, down the street from the Court House on the other side.
- Travis M. Scott I lived in Laurel County one summer in college when I worked at J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp. With that said, I usually ate at Hardees, so I'd ask my aunt and uncle Shane and Mary Wilsey Casebolt and my cousin Colin Casebolt on advice on where to eat.
- Kathy Jo Stubblefield I don't know where I'd eat, but I'd call Janrose Deweese from their DWC and pay my respects to Roy Sizemore's family.
- Wes Wright Sorry for the repetition, but since Corbin is part Laurel (and also part Knox and part Whitley) I'll go with the original Col. Sanders and the Depot. For something clearly in Laurel County, I'll go with Sonny's BBQ in London. Since London friends Chip Begley and Johnny Burchett have moved to Atlanta, I'll just go there instead.
- Christian J. Motley Not sure where you should eat, but I'd visit Berea College's #GrowAppalachia program housed at the Laurel County African American Heritage Center, run by Wayne Riley.
- Daniel Tatum Eat at Weaver's Hot Dogs and I grew up there so I could go visit a lot of people, but I will stick with my mom and dad. Visiting the 1st KFC would be a tourist thing to do,
- Hope McLaughlin As a native of Laurel County I vote Weaver's hot dogs as well. The World Chicken Festival - Official Facebook Page is always a good time!
- Liz Deweese Lewis Jeff Noble come visit us anytime! We will even take you out to eat at The Abbey. And Janrose Wells Dewees is my cousin so we could see her as well .
- Matt Sawyers Finally! God's country. We used to have the best greasy spoon in all the land, the Burger Boy, but the owners retired and closed it. You can still probably get emphysema from hanging out too long in the empty building it was in...Weaver's is legenda...See More
- Brenda Erickson My hometown, love to eat at Shiloh's Steak House. Love going back as often as possible.
