SB-67. Letcher County. (See Entry #777 for an explanation).
#67
is LETCHER COUNTY (named for KY's 15th Gov. Robert Letcher; county seat
is Whitesburg). Where do you eat & who do you visit? #KY120Game — with Charlotte Flanary and 18 others.
- 3 people like this.
- Travis M. Scott Home of Whitesburg, the best little hippie town in Kentucky! I'd see Jason Brashear, Amanda Fickey, Josephine Richardson, and Sarah Elizabeth Back. Go see a band at Summit City Lounge, get dinner there, the Courthouse Cafe' or the Pine Mountain Grill. Get a tattoo at the Parlor Room, buy home decor at Deanna's Designs. Hike the Little Shepherd Trail. If you're a wine drinker, the Highland Winery in Seco is a place to visit as well.
- Katie Mueller Appalshop. Aside from that, Travis pretty much nailed everythign I was gonna say. I ADORE Whitesburg, for the record. Adore it. Matt McGrath once, in '11, after visiting that area for the first time during a gorgeous spring, said, and I quote, and will never forget "Mueller, this is, in fact, God's country".
- Marisa FitzGerald Aull Pine mountain Grill is a fave - I can eat and shop for Bella in the same place
- Ashli Watts I'd definitely ask Leslie Caudill where to go. I'm sure Eleanor Caudill would take me to the Courthouse Café for some pie
- Jeff Noble I'd contact Sheila Holbrook and get her recommendation on where to eat although one place I know I'll be stopping is the Pine Mountain Grill. And, since I'd be in the neighborhood I'd drive up the "new" US23 (built in the 1990s) and take a look-see at Pound Gap, one of America's great geological sites and original crossroads, and maybe head over and see Bad Branch Falls, which I saw in 1979 but haven't since.
