- Katie Mueller Oh yay! Again! Marion County Ham Days are coming soon, this is aptly timed. I'll go by and demand a long-owed me milkshake from Chad G. Mattingly, give Elmer J. George Jr. a congratulatory hug for his upcoming nuptials, see Barry Brady and his exquisite granddaughter, get some love and hopefully supper from Connie Rakes, have a beer with Joe M Crews, get the good gossip and local lowdown from Terry Catfish Rakes and swing by to give Freddie Higdon a hug and get a good joke told. I love Marion County. Love it. Every inch and every person. It's my second favorite county!
- Sandy Harston I lived there when I was first married. In a mobile home, by a babbling brook, in a field adjacent to the radio station. Lots of good memories. However, it has been a long time and I have no idea where to eat now!
- Chuck Geveden Great pizza down town at Ragetti's or have some Mexican at La Fuente. Definitely see our great friends Tom Sullivan and Courtney Dyer Sullivan.
- Travis M. Scott I have a lot of fond memories in Marion County that I have trouble remembering. County Clerk-Elect Chad G. Mattingly, PVA Terry Catfish Rakes, Elmer J. George Jr., Joe M Crews and Amy Corder Bland are the people to see, if you can get Chad on the phone. While there are many fine dining establishments in downtown Lebanon, the most unique food I ever tried was a Slaw Dog (a flash fried hotdog with slaw and some sort of cayenne sauce) at some liquor store/restaurant out in the middle of nowhere.
- Elmer J. George Jr. Several good places to eat -- Ragetti's if you're craving Italian. For Slaw Dogs, go over to Cut Rate Liquors; good best steaks around go to Missy's Cafe, or wanting a good, quick lunch stop in at Joe's Deli on Main.
- Theresa Sandusky Rakes Agree with Joey and would add Henning's for lunch on Main Street....re-opened a few months ago. Two great golf courses--The Lebanon Country Club and Rosewood and a must see and tour of our very own Maker's Mark and Limestone Branch Distillery along with WhiteMoon Winery. Just a few reasons why I commute......it has always been home!
- Jeff Noble I had a lot of fun in Marion County when I was in my 20s (as best I can remember), most of it along the road from Holy Cross to St. Francis to Raywick. I always visit the grave of my friend Eleanor Cahoe, buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, where they have an outdoor Stations of the Cross. When I ran for office in 1985, she was in charge of Louisville's Camp Taylor precinct (H-121) and told me she'd take care of it for me. I lost that Primary (as I did the other two I ran in) but I won H-121 by over two hundred votes. My cousin, Bill Elliott Lewis, Jr., lives in Lebanon where (I suppose) he is still playing his coronet.
